The Atacama Desert has its own identity that the house tends to appropriate. Located on an ancestral land of lithium, copper mines and gold, the house establishes a strong relationship with its surroundings, with the landscape as well as with the orange-coloured earth that surrounds it. It tends to completely merge with this desert valley that offers itself to it. It overcomes the arid days and icy nights by adapting to the harsh climate surrounding it. The layout of outdoor spaces treated like a loggia thus allows the self-regulation of interior spaces. The openings are oriented towards a Martian landscape during the day and towards the stars at night.
